Karen Aruba Art presents 'A Mahjong Story - from craftsmanship to artistry' - an intimate story of Hong Kong culture centred on the traditional Mahjong hand-carved craftmanship and manufacturing process. In Cantonese, mahjong has the same pronunciation as the “sparrow”. By illustrating the lovely sparrow printed on home décor products, we hope to integrate an old mahjong story with traditional culture elements and artistic design, to pass skills and know-how from old to new generations which also interpretates the value of design without boundaries.
